The Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze, the Viareggio Municipality and the Fondazione Laboratorio 2RC – Officina Contemporaneo in Rome organize the the Master Degree “Techniques and Management in editorial and Printmaking Art”.The course has been scheduled from October 2014 to June 2015 at the 2RCGAMC Centro Internazionale della Grafica d’Arte in Viareggio (Lucca), GAMC Galleria d’Arte e Moderna e Contemporanea in Viareggio.

Postponed to Saturday, September 20th the deadline to sign up. The course has been planned in collaboration with the Fondazione “Laboratorio 2RC – Officina Contemporaneo” in Rome and the Municipality of Viareggio, and foresees the assignment of 60 ECTS-credits, equivalent to 1500 hours of study.

The printmaking world, while fully preserving the force of tradition, is being continually updated in order to respond to the demands of the contemporary world. The Masters in Techniques and Management in editorial and Printmaking Art” aims to enable participants to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to work in highly qualified professional activities, allowing them to perform various roles in the field of printmaking: artist, artisan, publisher, curator, printer and manager.

Thanks to this prestigious partnership with 2RC, the course will be able to benefit from cutting edge equipment and highly qualified teachers.

The curriculum consists mainly of hands-on learning through workshops covering subjects such as "Intaglio printmaking techniques", "Experimental intaglio techniques" and "Fine Art Printmaking" without however neglecting theoretical and management aspects such as: "Cataloguing and archive management", "History of design and graphic art", "Art Publishing", "Marketing and graphic design", "Legislation and the art market." The course will also include 250 hours of internship in well-known Italian institutions.

The Masters offers the opportunity of obtaining a specialized educational qualification, that is officially recognized and unique in its field. The deadline to register expires in September. The participation fee is €3,000. Thank to the Support of the Nando Peretti Foundation for Italian students, 3 scholarships will be offered. For students coming from the CAFA Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, 2 internships are planned for the period of a month in Viareggio.

Those eligible for admission must already have obtained a three-year undergraduate degree or four-year undergraduate degree (old system) at an Italian Accademia di Belle Arti (Academy of Fine Arts); a master’s or specialized degree in a similar course at an Italian university; or other similar qualifications, issued by a foreign institution, providing they are recognised as valid according to the regulations in force in Italy.
