Il protagonista? Il Maestro Emilio Isgrò.

Partendo da una preziosa cinquecentina del “Libro del Cortegiano” di Baldassarre Castiglione, i ragazzi hanno lavorato per mesi su otto lastre di rame. Non è stata solo tecnica: Con Emilio Isgrò, la doppia acquatinta sulla cancellatura diventa disciplina dello sguardo: sottrarre per generare senso.

Sotto la guida del Prof. Marco Bazzini e degli esperti della 2RC, Simona Rossi e Lino Tortosa, il gruppo ha attraversato ogni fase della stampa d’arte — dall’acquaforte alla fotoincisione — fino al fatidico "Buono di Stampa".

È stata un'occasione rara per vedere da vicino come il pensiero concettuale diventi precisione artigianale. Oggi quel libro antico torna a respirare in una nuova forma, dimostrando che quando l'Accademia incontra la storia della grafica, la tradizione si incide nel presente.

What happens when a masterpiece from 1544 meets contemporary art?
|
The second workshop between the Academy of Fine Arts in Urbino and 2RC has just concluded, bringing students from the Master’s program in Printmaking for Visual Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts of Urbino into the very heart of professional practice.

The central figure? Maestro Emilio Isgrò.
|
Starting from a precious 16th-century edition of The Book of the Courtier by Baldassare Castiglione, the students worked for months on eight copper plates. This was not just about technique: with Emilio Isgrò, double aquatint through erasure becomes a discipline of vision—subtracting to generate meaning.
|
Under the guidance of Professor Marco Bazzini and 2RC experts Simona Rossi and Lino Tortosa, the group moved through every stage of fine art printing—from etching to photo-engraving—up to the decisive “Printing Proof”.
|
|
It was a rare opportunity to witness how conceptual thinking becomes artisanal precision. Today, that ancient book breathes again in a new form, showing that when the Academy meets the history of printmaking, tradition is engraved into the present.
